acidity-types,cause,symptoms and treatment-home remedy

To increase the amount of acids in the body fluid is called acidosis. Usually this disorder occurs when the person’s kidney and lungs do not control the pH level of the body. If there is a problem in the internal organs, the amount of acid in the body increases. Acidity in the blood is measured by pH level. Low pH means the amount of acids in the blood is high, while the higher the pH level shows the excess of the alkaline element in the blood.

Normal blood pH level should be 7.4. Acidosis is present when 7.3 pH or below. However, this gap seems to be low, but in the person many health problems can occur.

Some main types of acidosis are:

Respiratory acidosis – This disorder occurs in the body with a high concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2). Usually CO2 is exhaled by lungs by lungs. In some cases, the amount of CO2 increases in the body due to this action is not normal. The main reasons for this happen are-

  • Chronic airway condition like asthma
  • Chest injuries.
  • Excessive obesity, which can make breathing difficult.
  • Drug misuse
  • Excess alcohol consumption
  • Chest muscle dysfunction
  • Problems in the nervous system
  • Irregular eating

Metabolic Acidosis – There is a problem in the Metabolic Acidosis kidney (Kidney). This disorder occurs when the kidney does not get enough amount of acid from the body or removes the alkaline elements which keep balance.
Metabolic Acidosis is mainly of three types-

Diabetic acidosis – In the diabetes mellitus, when low insulin is formed, the ketones form in the body. Ketone increases the body’s acidity.
Hyperchloramic acidosis – lack of sodium bicarbonate leads to hyperchloramic acidosis. This base is helpful in keeping the pH of the blood naturally. Having more diarrhea or vomiting can cause this problem.

Lactic acidosis – increases the likelihood of lactic acidosis due to excess of lactic acid. This disorder can be due to many reasons such as regular consumption of alcohol, cardiovascular disease, cancer, liver disorder, low blood sugar etc. Lactic acid levels in the body also increase due to prolonged exercise.
